Did the XJ's ever come with a front axle without the disconect? Also did the cheroke or grand cheroke come with D44's or did they have the D30/D35's like the YJ's?

XJ's after about 89 or 90 do not have the vacume disconect. XJ's with the tow package came with D44 rears from 87-?

If there is not a vacuum disconect, how does the four wheel drive engauge? Is there a different transfer case in the XJ vs the YJ?

Same TC , in 2wd , there is no power being directed to the front axle , the diff turns with the wheels always on a non disco axle.
