Fuel Rail Disconnects
« on: October 21, 2009, 12:18:59 AM »
So I had broken one of my disconnects on my 2.5 YJ, and called every dealer in the city for the part....lo and behold, the disconnects are not sold separate anymore....it going to cost $87 for the return line and $98 for the feed.

I talked to some people and the general consensus was to take the disconnect off and use fuel injected hose with a couple of clamps....perfect.

I went to my local crappy tire and found some hose...no problem....went looking for the clamps...none.

While I searched around for clamps, I stumbled upon some replacement disconnects for Ford and GM applications, all different sizes as well.

It took a bit of light heating to get the plastic line onto the steel but it worked, the disconnect fit perfectly.

So anyone looking for a quick disconnect...head over  to Crappy Tire and close to the thermostats and fuel line fittings you should find a bunch there.

A 3/8 line with the disconnect attached cost $19.99

If I remember correctly the fuel filter uses the same clip(on my ZJ anyway). You could also buy a new fuel filter, install it then salvage the clip off the old filter.
