I wish I could get tires for my rig at that price  :'(
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

what size were you looking at?  I can get you a price, they are on sale until sunday(have to order by then)(Provided they are available)
that is the price everyone that has a membership would pay for that tire.

Costco does have some rules to follow, Proper rim width(recommended by manufacturer), holds enough load for the vehicle, does not rub(allthough, if it did rub with suspension travel that would be something we could not actually test, so if it did, you are still stuck with the tires,
and the tire must be able to be inflated to what the door tag calls for(even if you don't need to run it that high).

that is about it, we can go as big as people want, as long as it falls within the few rules we have to follow.
for the most part, if the vehicle is lifted enough, then it will likely not be a problem to go big.

we also have inexpensive lug nuts and valve stems(works for my jeep anyway).(just thought I would put that out there :))

nope, not toyo's, just Michelin and bfg.
I will have a look at work and see if we can get the size for you in a bfg, I might drop by work today, so I will let you know.

and the 900 bucks for the 32's were for 4, not 5, just in case I didn't mention that

i was told that i can not order any tire size that the OEM specs state at Costco. This only applies if i want Costco to do the balance and life thing deal. i have bought several sets from Costco.
But, i just take the tires and get them on elsewhere. i also save more $ from the price of tire by deducting the balance, mount stuff.

This has happened with every BFG AT i have ordered through Costco. It did not matter if vehicle was lifted. They will sell the tires but will not mount/balance them.
Is this true? OR HAS POLICY CHANGED?
Thanks

I'd like clarification as well since I was told that they would sell me OEM size only and would not sell me tires without knowing what they were going on. I was also told that if I ran them aired down and offroad or if I had any other shop install them  that Costco would not honor ANY warranty since they consider it abuse.

I'm sure Zombie will chime in, buy I know that used to be the case.  I recently however got some 33x10.5 BFG AT KO's on my stock gambler rims, and some 33x10.5 BFG MT KM2's on black steelies with no problems.  My understanding is that their stance has relaxed a bit.  A friend used to take his tires in and get them mounted on rims and put them on his truck himself under their old policy.

the policies at Costco have changed a little.
we can mount almost anything now, provided that they are not too wide or narrow for the wheels, they do not rub, but again, we can only test what it does on flat ground, so if we think they are too close and will rub with articulation, we will not mount them.
even if we do mount them and they rub with articulation, the tires are still yours(which I think any realistic person would be OK with),

the tires also have to be able to hold enough weight for the vehicle(we will use the placecard of the vehicle).

and we have to be able to inflate the tires to what the place card says(so if the vehicle calls for 80psi, and the tire only goes to 65, it would be a no go.)
I do know that a lot of the bigger tires will still be able to hold the weight of the vehicle plus all the stuff on it at reduced pressures, but that is one of the rules.

this one is where larger trucks(3/4 and one tons) get stuck, as most larger tires(width over 295mm) can only be inflated to 65 or even 50 psi. now, the tires will usually be able to hold the weight of the vehicle(eg, dodge one ton, oem tire are 265/70r17 LRE, calls for say 50 front and 70 rear, a 315/0r17 LRD will hold the weight of the vehicle no problem, but we can't inflate them to past 50PSI, even though I would likely run them at about 35 front and 45 rear(will hold close to the same weight as the stock tires do at oe pressures, and they will still ride very rough).

we mainly use our best judgement.

Costco does also does not warranty tires that are damaged while offroad(or caused from running the tires aired down, etc.) kinda sucks, but I think it is understandable, being as that is always a possibility while wheeling.
this is mainly to reduce the amount of money we loose if we warrenty the tires, offroading has risks and costco big wigs feel that costco should not have to take the risks if people decide to go wheeling

I will clarify with the boss what the deal is with carry in wheels, because I think they don't like us to do a lot of carry in's because that is usually where people know they will not fit without rubbing and what not.

A lot of the time we get people that want us to mount tire that are outside of the tire specs(rim too narrow), and we have to say no.

hope that helps,
Steve

Thanks Steve.
Things have changed. Will they still allow me to special order tires and carry them out unmounted?

sure will, or at least at the NE one where I work we do.
we still don't honor any warranties if we do not mount the tires though.

I do have a buddy that will mount them at a good price if you need it, nice guys, good shop, and they can can bead balance them too(don't remember what they charge for that though)
