lift it or not

Well I got a 2.5'' lift that i won off ebay for my 09 jk, but now I'm not to sure if I want to install it at the moment.  I can't afford new rims and tires.  So I'm seeing what people think would a jk rubi look dumb on stock rims and tires and 2.5'' lift, or should I wait till I can afford tires?  By the way its a 2dr with a warn bumper and winch.  It also has a leveling spacers installed now.

It won't look as good as it will eventually look on 35's....but but I think it will look fine.

I've got a 3 inch (or so) lift on my JK Unlimited on stock Rubi tire and wheels tires until this spring, and it looks better than stock. (or at least I think so)

 I second that.  w squared's rig looks great today.  Get the lift put and wait for the new rubber.

i would just leave it off until you are ready to do the tire/rim upgrade. That way, the lift will not be subjected to our salty roads.

I'm going to say wait.  Go look at my old pics in the tech thread of what my stock tires on a 2.5" lift look like.......  Weren't 32's but still.

Put it on with the tires.  That way it just totally skips that whole awkward puberty stage of being all gangly and goes right to looking mean.  Stock to BAM awesome!

If you have an auto with 4.10 gearing you might want to think about gears, and you'll likely NEED a programmer to fix the shift points stock or re-geared.  If you have a manual it'll just fix your speedo.  And you can work with the gearing.  I've got 3.73's (thought 3.21's before) and it's "manageable" as a manual if you're heavy footed.

Get some "c-gussets" welded on your front axles so you don't break the knuckles off.  Can buy some, or just get some metal and make it work.

I also wish I bought 37's instead of 35's......

Keep in mind the front is already higher as the bigger tires are on it, but I think you see the issue in the rear there.  It might come out looking like you're driving around on training wheels.

BTW, what lift did you get?

I got a 2.5 terra flex lift. 
That was what I was worried about.  I really want to put it on but when I see the amount of gap between the rear wheels I just dont know.  The 4dr's look good with  a bit of a lift but I always think the 2dr's look like they are too tall/to top heavy/wrong.  But as  I keep looking some times when they are on the mud tire they look ok, or so I seem to think.  I'll have to wait for the snow to melt so I can put a jack stand and jack under one side to see how it will look but as of now I think I will wait till I have to buy new tires.  Its just out of my price range to be replacing tires that are not worn out.
