Roof Rack Gear Basket?

So we have another Dog on the way so the back seat is going to be taken up by K-9, To accommodate the gear I need to carry to go camping I am looking for a roof rack to put gear boxes on. I want one that is easy to take on and off, because once camp is set up I will be taking it off to go wheeling.
One that I can take apart to make it smaller or I can customize so it packs down smaller for storage in my storage locker.
I have a factory rack on the Cherokee now so I will not be needing the gutter rail mounts unless it is art of the system but not needed.
So what does everyone suggest or may have for sale. I don't want to spend much money on it because I plane on building a custom trailer next winter.

i think trevor has some sort of rack in his garage......... i think it fits an XJ. why dont you just strap crap to it?

He dos have the one I just took off. was designed to carry a spare and high lift. It was not any good for cargo boxes.
When I got the XJ it was to go camping and get out with, I never thought I would go this far with it.
What I want is one of those baskets.

if your new dog will be as big as your other one i dont think you need a roof rack. you can fit 20 of those in your xj. you will just need sum ear muffs

there is a shop in calgary called racks unlimited ( i think ) i saw racks there for 199.99 well built go check it out !!
they run ads in the calgary sun
