White gas or Propane.

I am in the market for a new camp stove. the MSR Dragon fly is a little small for what I am doing now.
It will be a Coleman but I am debating between White gas and Propane.
Looking for opinions and experiences with them.

I've used both and now use propane only.  It's easy.  Also runs my lantern and BBQ...

Ditto....I've got a propane stove/grill. Only one fuel to carry and worry about

Propane = easy, clean burning, and versatile. It needs no priming. It has two downfalls  - you can't always tell how much is left in a cylinder, and it doesn't work that well when it's really cold.

White gas = a pain in the rear compared to propane, but I think it's cheaper to run and it works well in the cold.

Pick one fuel and get all of your goodies (stove, lantern, heaters?) running on the same stuff.

If you do go with propane, you've already got a good MSR, so you can fall back on that for winter use.

white gas. i can rebuild the pumps in a snow storm. a little oil on the leather seal will make it go forever. i keep a spare pump assebly im my camping box. problem with propane is in a strorm the tanks freeze. if you do go propane get an adapter off ebay so you can fill your cylenders. basicly you freeze your disposables and leave the big tank in the sun. hook em up and turn the assembly upside down. in a few minutes your cylendar is full. or else get the hose to connect to a real tank. if you run outaa white gas you can use gasoline in a pinch ( it smokes a bit) try that with propane. oh and white gas mixed wit 2 parts engine oil will get any fire going without you looseing chin hair and eybrows. i also have a white gas heater and laterns. i set the heater slighly behind my chair at campfire and keep my bum warm. also works in a tent with the windows open
