so worked on the yj today and seems like i got it fixxed 2 hoses going from air filter to the exhaust i believe was the problem. someone hacked the thing up. one of the hoses ran to the filter but then was cut off under the engine which i just noticed and the other one ran to the exhaust but when i first bought it there was a bolt and nut in the end that went into the filter box so i pulled it and put it in but now i noticed there was rusty water getting into my airbox so i pluged it back up and it seems to be running nice tuned the carb so it runs nicer. i also changed the valve cover gasket and oil and got the E3 spark plugs in and we got no stalling and idleing is nice. all my spark plugs had lots of carbon build up on them so needed a changing.   Thanks guys for all your help and advise, Mike.
