Looking for an SYE for my YJ. Is there one kit that's better or more complete than another?

I really like my AA SYE, although after buying mine they came out with a JB super shorty SYE, which nets ya another 2" of DS length.

I'd prolly go super short if I was buying today.

I just put this in. You might have to press the bearings off your sproket. Dont need them anymore.

Why are you interested in a SYE when you only have a 2.5" lift, are you getting some bad vibrations?

Nope, no vibes at all. I'm hoping an SYE will let me get rid of the T-case drop (for clearance) while using a slip-jointed DS to save some $$ over a double cardan.

Also in the works are new shock towers and possibly moving the rear axle back as far as the stock tank will allow. I'll be trimming the fenders with TJ flares in the rear too. I'm trying for minimal lift - max clearance.

You can install an engine lift and reduce your transfercase drop instead. Much cheaper than SYE.

I run a 3.5-4" spring lift + 1" bodylift. Installed a 1" engine mount block, and lowered the transfer case only 7/8th of an inch. I think I can get away with only 1/2" on the transfer case but that is where I started and it runs smooth.

With only a 2.5" lift, you might get away with *only* and engine lift.

Check out http://www.jksmfg.com/1_bmm_lift.htm. I bought mine from www.nsor.com for $50 or 60CDN. There is a bit of work to install them. If you run any body lift, you might have to put a dent in the firewall where the rear bolt of the valve cover is. I had to do a minor trim on the motor mount bracket on the frame to allow room to get things in place.

Already bought the SYE, thanks though. Never even considered an engine lift, doesn't it have issues of it's own (Rad, tranny clearance, etc.)? I'm trying to simplify issues with my Jeep.

Still deciding on the driveshaft.

JB super short in Denise's. Definately a good choice Red.

So you are going to do a none CV slip splined shaft?

Should work well with your lift. I have a CJ at my house right now with 4-5" of lift that runs that exact setup.
