As I am new to the area, where is a good place to take my rig for repairs and where is the best place to buy aftermarket and OEM parts?  Thanks.

National 4wd is very good for aftermarket parts and service.  They have a very reasonable shop rate.  http://www.national4wd.com

Also Modern Motors is good for aftermarket parts.  There is also Northshore Offroad in Vancouver, Hoyboyz in Lethbridge and Rocky Mountain Ofroad in Red Deer.

For other parts, there is Napa, Auto Value, Canadian Tire, Parts Source.  All are decent, just call around and see who has the best price[/url]

I do repairs and installs part time out of my garage. Brakes, tune ups, clutches, lifts, etc etc. You can hang an learn to do it yourself for next time. Or drop off and pick up. Im pretty easy goin. Send me a pm if you need somethin.

If you want a shop, inspections, tire swaps, bigger jobs, etc etc, Hightech auto is a good shop. Better rates then national or modern, and he doesnt just through booktime at you regardless of how long it takes. Tell me if you are going to them though. You get even better rates with a recommendation from me.

Hoyboyz has the best prices, service, and turn around of any of the local parts suppliers.

there is a place you can rent a mechanics bay for $15/hr fully stocked with air tools. Its up off 32 Ave NW and 12street by the animal shelter and UPS shop. Look in the yellow pages, its abit hard to find. I think its called U wrench bays or something. You can lift the vehicle up, but they are steadily booked.

I can't deal with National... they have never been very nice to me when I go in there and they are always overpriced.

I prefer to talk to Wil at NSOR ( www.nsor.com ), Rob/Brian at Modern Motors or Mark at Rocky Mountain Offroad.

For custom work, Clay at Evolution ( www.evolutionmachine.com ) is your man.

I always had great service and prices @ National 4WD... If I don't do it myself that's where I go. Talk to Dean or Rich ... they are good folks... 8)

I don't shop @ NSOR.... They might be sometime $5-$10 cheaper ... I realy don't care... I like to support our local economy.

ROB @ HOYBOYZ is an excellent guy. I've never use his sercives but I only hear great things. He's a great recommendation!!

PS: If you become a member of the CJA they give you 10% off... @ NATIONAL 4WD 8)

Dean @ National has been great to me with parts and prices. They were cheaper by a good margin on my lift kit, tires, etc. than anywhere else. Any of the problems I've had at National were the fault of their supplier, and not National themselves. Modern Motors has been good to me as well. It's good to buy local with 4x4 stuff, in case you have a problem with anything.

I like eBay too. No one local could touch my eBay price on my Tuffy console, or even come within $100. I'll shop local even if I have to pay a bit more, but for $100, I'll take the chance. Just ordered a piece from RMOR last week, guess I'll find out about their service soon enough!

I've also ordered online through Misch4x4 products and Performance Off Road Centers. Both were great experiences.

For OEM parts, I've bought from Big4 and Renfrew. Both parts departments were fine, but I'm the kind of custome who comes in with a part number in hand if possible...
