titan winches?
« on: August 08, 2010, 08:25:13 PM »
Anyone have any experience with Titan winches? If so, any opinions? Some of the stuff I've read on the net seems pretty good and they are based in Canada which is nice for a change.

I don't have any actual experience with them. The price points are quite attractive though.

Then again, people routinely get used Warn winches in the "for sale" section of this board in that same price range. While used vs new is not apples to apples, I know a lot of people (including me) who have gotten years of trouble-free service out of used Warns. If they do stop working, Warn customer service is excellent, and the parts to do a rebuild are easy to get.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(

yeah, lots to think about for sure. Seems that Titan has a nice 12,000 lb winch with a synthetic line, wireless remote, and aluminum fairlead for 765. Apparently Duncan at Titan is the man for customer service and their product is bombproof. But as you pointed out, a new or second hand Warn can last a long time.. . . .hmmmmmmm, lots to think about.

I can vouch for Duncan. I have many friends in Ontario that are running these winches and are extremely happy.

I have one of there air compressors at it works very well.  It got lost by ups so a week after they shipped i phoned them up to get the tracking number . Two weeks later they phoned me to see if it arrived and then they promptly sent me a new one. Customer service in number one
There is a huge thread on jeepking about there winches , sounds very positive .

yeah, it was the Jeepking thread that originally alerted me to their company and product. There are quite a few Toyota forums that pimp the product as well. I was also eyeing their air compressor. If only I had unlimited funds ;D
