I've noticed in the past 2000 or so KM's (from 25,000 up to about 27,000) that there's been a "squeek" when I let out the clutch pedal on my JK. I had suspected that it was the well-documented issue with the clutch disc on the JK, but the dealership is telling me that it is not that issue. They're suggesting that it's either the clutch pivot or the slave cylinder. As far as truly diagnosing it, they're telling me that they'd need to drop the transmission...and that since this is a clutch-related issue and I have more than 20,000 km on the Jeep that it would not be warranty work.
Any thoughts on how serious an issue this probably is? It's not something that I would have been worried about if I hadn't read the TSB regarding known issues with clutch discs.
Needless to say if it's an issue that won't be covered under warranty, I'm not likely to use the dealership to do the work.
