From some of the interviews of Barb it would appear that her goal wasn't to win the election so much as to make sure Ric didn't get in.  Not that I'm a political expert but several of her comments make ya think the whole running for mayor idea wasn't hers.

Nenshi looks to be the type that has his ducks in a row though.
This is not 'Nam, this is wheeling.  There are rules.

Nenshi may be a good candidate  , but he is a liberal in disguise , his first announcement  ,  we will build a tunnel under the new landing strip at the airport . B i G  $$$$$$$$$$$

Don't automatically assume that anyone who spends any money is way over on the left.

A cornerstone of Nenshi's platform was to make getting around Calgary easier. If a candidate actually uses their election platform as a guide for what they do in office, it's a refreshing change.

Of course, only time will tell. Just like every other elected official that gets into office, I'm certain that the #1 priority for Mr. Nenshi will be to remain in office.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
