8.8 swap into 1998 ZJ
« on: November 29, 2010, 02:03:16 AM »
Hey guys so i am planning on doing an 8.8 swap into my ZJ (nervous on the trail with 33's and a dana 35) So just looking for someone that has maybe already done this swap or can give me some pointers and kinda lead me in the right direction. I found a fab kit that comes with all the spring perches etc...just looking for some guidance :) thanks

i've not done it, but have done a bunch of research.
did you pick up a bracket kit from IRO?  that should make life easier for sure.

i belive the 8.8 is a little narrower than the ZJ. so you will need some 1.5" wheel spacers to put it in spec with the front D30.

get one with discs if you can. (96 and up exploders)

for more info on it from people that have done it check out mallcrawlin.com or sites like jeepforum.com or nagca.com

good luck with it!
