Remote Starter with 7 day timer?
« on: November 15, 2011, 10:51:28 AM »
Anyone know of a remote starter with a built in 7 day timer? Want to get one as I leave the vehicle at the airport for a week at a time and it would be nice to have it fire up and be warm when I get back.

The only ones I have found are the Espar systems and the ones that link up to your smart phone.

Doesn't anyone make one with a basic timer? Seems pretty simple to me?

I've seen a couple where it will start every couple hours, run for X amount of minutes then turn off again. Never saw one that has a timer that long though. I'd say go with the smart phone one, I've seen a couple different versions and it works great.

and an extra $250 over the cost of a regular remote start, and it only works when in cellular range and you have to have a smart phone and be in cellular range with the phone.

<sigh> whats so complicated about a 7 day timer? I wonder if I could build one........

Sounds like a pretty good idea but, what happens if your flight is delayed especially for a long period of time?

Most remote starters have a shutdown either timed or temp. controlled most are timed so thier is some sort of timer in remotes already.

Have you tried Autotemp? Visions etc. I used to install them at Visions and 7 day timers were an easy option. Personally I wouldnt use one unattended for a week. Starters arent smart. They dont know if yur rad cracks... oil pump fails... so on and so on.

Parkngo I think it's called will start your car for you and have it cleaned off and pulled up to their office. I used them alot when I flew for work, and it was great. Just call them when you land and they will start it and pick you up on their shuttle.
