i've had 3 red tops.  1 died well after warranty, 1 died shortly after warranty and one gave me $75 back in pro-rated $

i went with a single rebuilt red top almost a year ago and it's performing as good as the other 3 I had.  all through winter and winching and winter camping and sitting for weeks on end while I ride my bike.   Also powers my new 500watt stereo no problem.

best of all, it cost me $75 (free swap for my pro-rated warranty).  i'm planning on getting another to fill the dual space under my hood.  I didn't expect it to last 6 monts so I am pleasantly surprised.

X2.

These 'Eliminator Spiral Grid' batteries are the same AGM technology used in Optima's batteries. $170 and their warranty is fantastic (3-year direct replacement, 10-year pro-rated). So, cheaper than the optima's, and better warranty. I've been using these batteries since I started jeeping, have put them through so much on the trail (eg. alternator died and constantly discharged/boosted battery a dozen times just to get out of fish east!) and still ran solid for years after.
Ask Jonas he ought to remember that one ;)

Now the Orbital guys chime in........too late.
