Basically, if we don't make fun of you we don't like you. Or we really hate you. One or the other...

Yarrrr.... the Land Pirate has a point.....
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.
Here's your cup of STFU... ENJOY!

Glad to hear that the OP was able to get the vehicle out. Good job on banding together and helping dude out.

Big Hill Towing in cochrane. Either way, buy some lube.

Now, speaking as the Big Hill Towing driver who would most likely get this call (ie. I'm the dude rocking the 4x4 wrecker 98% of the time), yup bring lube. I honestly feel bad handing out some of the recovery bills that I do, but look at it from our perspective. You are asking us to risk a $80,000 truck and burn most of a day. A mirror for my truck costs $800, ask me how I know. Yup, a ghost recovery. Ripping a dual off the rim is pretty common for these types of recoveries. There's another $400ish. Plus a tow truck isn't exactly a purpose built trail rig. It's a bone stock 5500 Dodge.

That being said, we're pretty good at what we do. We get a couple calls a year to go out and rescue the cheaper quoting towers after the owner decides we're asking for too much.

I can think of 3 recovery calls in the area that we've attempted and not been able to do in the last 2 years. All 3 of them involved snow that was impassable in a tow truck or just plain unsafe for me and my co-workers.

But ya, have fun out there and keep safe! I'm sure I'll see some of you rolling down the trails this summer. And if you see a little white Dodge 5500 wrecker in Cochrane, I like Tim Horton's. Large, 2 cream.
