the 4.7 v8 is not a fun engine to get into, overhead cam, 3 timing chains, very specific torque specs on every bolt. you could try valve seals, but you'd be pulling the cams to do them. if you're burning oil now the catalytic converters arent going to be happy soon. from what ive seen the 4.7 from all are the same, things like accessory drive and exhaust manifolds are different. your options run out quick. its been a while since ive been into one, maybe someone else has some better experiences...

I'm with heeps on this one, I rebuilt one of these engines two years ago.  They are expensive to rebuild PITA to put back together.  Putting a rebuilt head on a higher mileage engine can cause it to start burning more oil due to the higher compression.  Changing the valve seals will not affect compression and will not make it burn more oil.  Rule of thumb is if you turn the engine off while it's hot, let it sit for 5 minutes, start it and if you see blue smoke it's coming from the valve guides.  If it is burning blue under hard acceleration it's the rings.  If it needs a rebuild I would look for a used engine before I rebuilt another.
I just can’t resist a good mud hole!  🤦
