SYE TJ Question
« on: March 17, 2013, 04:46:35 AM »
Hey guys/gals, Ive decided to go ahead with a SYE kit finnaly and am wondering where i could find best prices? Can i have my current  driveshaft  (DSI custom) modified to use on the SYE? or do they come with a full kit? My search on the forum here are pretty ancient and all i seen was some ebay stuff. Thanks for any input.cheers

Im going to be purchasing an SYE here soon as well.  Ive pretty much found only two options... advance adapters abd JB conversions. Im thinking of goibg the JB route because its a full 3"shorter than the advance unit (allowing longer druve shaft). You will need to get a new drive shaft that is built to your custom requirements (length) which from what ive found can only trully be measured once the SYE is installed. Let me know if you think the JB conversion may work for you and we can save on shipping!!

The super short JB SYE is pretty slick. I can't recall how they do the speedo though. But longer the better for drive shafts.

Jb has both bolt on electronic (for newer tj) and an electronic to mechanical for older tj. Would have to do some research into how that would work.

Crown also makes SYE, I got mine via gemini jeep in BC.

Doesn't say but I'm sure it was this one: http://www.gemini-sales.com/TJ_SUSPENSION-Yoke_Eliminator_Kit_YJ_87_95_TJ_97_03.html

I installed a JB SS SYE in my YJ and the SS uses a tone ring.  Now there in a splice kit that I bought from Chrysler that allowed me to wire the sensor into my existing speedo.  The only cavet is there is not more changing speedo gears to adjust your gauge.  However with 33s and 4.10s my speedo is within a couple km/h.

I would definitely recommend the SS kits over the standard SYE
