Sat nav issues in an 07 dodge nitro,
« on: March 24, 2013, 03:06:59 PM »
Got a pretty good deal on an 07 dodge nitro, 170k for 6g,  has a few more bells and whistles than my Tj,

The sat nav isn't working, seems to be stuck at an elevation of 487 meters, which is about right for where I am in Ontario, but the screen is blank/ blue, with the arrow in the middle, when I searched an address it said calculating for awhile, then i got tired of waiting so  I just canceled out, it also has sirius radio built in, but the subscription is up, I was wondering maybe I have to renew the radio subscription for the gps to work?

I'll be cracking out the owners manual sometime soon, but wondered if anyone had any ideas,

What version of the mygig did you get ( bottom rh corner it will have a set of letters)? As well what version is the software? It sounds like it needs to be up dated!
You don't need the sat to work for the GPS, as they have different antennas.

I've been super busy lately, but finally cracked open the owners manual, it talked about a separate navigation user manual, which i dont have, and how the radio has a build in hard disk memory, im sure there will be a way to reload my gps? But definitely didnt say anything in my manual,  would this be something i would have to visit a dealer for?
