Anyone know anything about a product called ClearPlex?  It is supposed to protect your windshield.  Dies anyone in Calgary sell/install this product?  Does it work?

IMO. 156$ that's the price for a windshield. Who knows how that stuff is going to look in a year or 2. If you buy a windshield every year or 2. You get BRAND NEW glass with no pits (crystal clear). If you want to be the test mule. Giver.  And please write a review. I highly doubt anyone here has tried it. But it would be nice to see this in person. I would be a little worried about the wipers scarring the surface.

Im not speaking on behalf of the law, and I myself have been ticketed for breaking many, but I dont think you want to mess with this stuff... Im pretty sure without looking through the Alberta Queens Printer that you CANNOT put any film on any windows ahead of the drivers shoulders. This I assume also means clear...

Id also have to ASSUME, (again I have no experience in this stuff) that it might turn out like a cell phone screen protector and not appear to be completely smooth after a few months...

I myself would steer away from this stuff, and do as Mike suggests. Just replace the windshield every couple years for the price they cost... Its worth it.
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

And in actually looking through the laws you will come across this...

http://www.qp.alberta.ca/documents/Regs/2009_122.pdf

 Specifically here....

Window glazing
70(1)
A person shall not install, replace or cover the window glazing in a windshield or in a left or right side window of a motor vehicle that is beside or forward of the driver with a transparent, translucent or opaque material.

You may get away with it being clear, but dont expect to win any court battles as no manufacturer installs such a product from the factory...

this stuff costs around 300+ depending on the car, at the time I got my tints done to my car the shop I did it at was the owner that works on the installs, at the time he was installing this on an old BMW that te windshield for it cost 450$ for some reason, the guy was installing it for 350.....

I asked him about fading and color changes and stuff he told me that he has had it for 5 years on his truck and 0 change in color or anything, I had it done on my fog lights and headlights, he changed me 100$ for 2 headlights and the fog lights, another thing that was good about this shop and the guy was his warrantee was life time and he stood by his word after I  had my head lights peal just a bit, but he had now shut down his shop
