Automatic transmission line
« on: April 26, 2013, 03:03:27 PM »
I have a 2010 Rubicon Unlimited and i have had to replace the transmission line that goes from the automatic transmission to the cooler at the front 2 times now.  It always seems to  develop a leak where the rigid line changes to rubber to make a corner right near the front axle shortly before it connects to the cooler. Its very annoying have your entire under carriage covered in tranny fluid.  Has anybody else had this problem.  My jeep has 110 000k on it now.

Every jk with an auto has this problem. Unless Chrysler or aftermarket has updated them they will keep leaking. :)

take your old line to a hydrolic line shop and have them make you up a new line. Used to do this for oil cooler lines on the chevies. OEm parts just leak again

Greenline Hose has always given me excellent service.
They can make whatever ya need. IIRC they are just off Blackfoot Trail and Manitou Rd.
I did a Google search for "hot trannies" but nothing came up about oil coolers  :o

Worrying too much about mpg with a Jeep is similar to worrying about your sister's virginity. An ok thing to be concerned about but...

I had never heard of this before, but in the last month or so I have had to take both of my jeeps in.  One has 70k the other is at 40k.

Might need to see if there are some aftermarket options...not keen on this springing a leak on the trail.

X2 on GreenLIne. or the chev solution was to cut the outside of the aluminum crimp off the line and use good hose clamps on it where the aluminum was. Green Line would have hardline to hose connectors that would alow tou to cut the hardline and put a decent hose on it as well. If its a common issue they might have hoses ready to go and sitting on a shelf.
