Hello all,

I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you in person but not as many as I would like.  Even though I am not super well known in this community I am going to be so bold as to ask for your support.

Our little guy (6) is a Type 1 diabetic and has been for a little over 5 years. We had a steep learning curve as to what that meant for him and us as a family. One of our biggest frustrations was the difficulty in finding accurate and relevant information about the medical, practical and psycho social aspects of this illness. As a result my wife and another mother of a child with diabetes have launched a website that they hope meets these needs.

I would humbly ask that if you yourself or someone you know is living with diabetes, that you take a moment to check out the website or forward the link.

Thanks for your time,
Moogs (Dean)

Diabetes ran in my dad's immediate family.  Growing up my Grandma had to watch pretty carefully what she ate, once and a while my siblings and I would have our blood sugar tested because Grandma had her tester out.  There was a point for about 5 years where she was able to go off the needle and control her levels with diet, but she did end up requiring insulin again.  They had the raspberry sugar candies at home and in their vehicle just in case.  I tried to make sure they didn't get too old.

I won't claim to know what it must be like to deal with that as a parent, but I'd be more than happy to forward it on.
This is not 'Nam, this is wheeling.  There are rules.
