antique auto reg/ins?
« on: October 06, 2013, 10:19:58 AM »
I know a few of you on here have had rigs registered as antiques and then insured as such....anyone want to give a run down on what rules/regs/suggestions you might have for this?

Thanks.

Antique

Permits licensing of vehicles at least 25 years old and only operated as a collector’s item in exhibitions, club activities, parades and transportation to and from these activities.

So would off-roading count as a club activity, or is that stretching the rules too much ?

Curious on the specifics... (for my 51 CJ3A)

I know I talked to an insurance lady one time, and she told me "Well, not your fault if only you and one buddy from a club show up, right? And maybe your event is going to lunch?"

i think you can do anything you want until you crash, hurt or kill someone in that crash and then you are investigated. Will the antique plate hold up to the club story?

Hmmmm...

Get it all in writing and what is deemed to/from club events and do 4x4 offroad clubs count?

I understand what you are saying. ;)

As for 4x4 clubs....YES.  They do count as clubs.
