« on: December 13, 2013, 03:23:34 PM »
So im looking at trading my project motorcycle for a ranger that has a dana 44 front, some tires and other parts i need for my truck then sending it to the scrap yard.

my question is about the front dana 44, will it fit on a TJ or is it a different length? also it has warn locking hubs on it are those any good?

your correct the ranger came with a Dana 28 TTB and a Dana 35 TTB when they introduced the 4.0L. the 44 that's in there right now is swapped (converted to solid axle) probably from an early bronco, which was popular to do in a ranger.

give us the BOM from the axle and I can tell you what it came out off. with a bracket kit it can be made to fit in a TJ, I believe the TJ axle is 60.5" WMS to WMS. a bronco D44 is 58" I think

Early 70's Ranger may have gad D44 front axles.

Correct. My 1971 F100 Ranger 4x4 came with the obligatory Dana 44 and Ford 9" combination . The 1/4 ton Rangers from 1983-1997 came with the TTB front diffs. Again, stating the year would help.

Sorry i didnt get back right away. it was out of a bronco swapped into a 94. I ended up not getting it, was going to be a hassle and the guy wasnt particularly easy to deal with which explains why its been for sale since october.
