putting a jk rubicon suspension in a jk sport

So I was on kijiji looking around  ::) and came across a guy selling a 4 door rubicon suspension. In his add he said that if you where to put it into a 2 door sport it would give you a lift! budget lift?  ;D From the reviews on Google it looks like I would be getting a 1/2 to 1 inch of lift but the ride would be much better! So the question is that has any one done it, or your thoughts on doing it!

If you are wanting to go that route, look for a set of coils the end in 58/59 for the front and 18/19 for the rears (iirc it could be the other way around too) and compare them to yours, the bigger the difference the more lift you will get.  You will go anywhere from 1/2 to 2 1/2 lift depending on what you already have installed. Now that being said, the ride stays the same, bit stiffer as the coils are set up for a 4dr. From what I remember you want to find coils from a 4dr with a tow package and hard top, it should have the largest springs, but it's not always the case so always check the numbers.
Is it worth it that is a matter of choice, you can swap out just the coils as that is the biggest difference, as well as the rubi has gas charged shock , I've been told it is a better shock the the x or sport. The Saraha already has the same shock as the rubi, so not much difference. If you are wanting a cheep lift, just go with a spacer they can be had for cheep, and ride will stay the same.

The fact that the suspension comes out of a Rubicon probably doesn't mean anything. If it comes off of a 4 door with a trailer hitch and a hard top and you put it on a 2 door with a soft top, you'll get a lift.

The reason that all the web wheelers think that Rubicon suspension is better is that the Chrysler website lists the Rubicon as having more ground clearance than the other JK's. What they never seem to figure out is that ground clearance is measured under the lowest spot on the vehicle - the differentials. The reason that the Rubicon has more ground clearance is that it has bigger tires.

Whatever buddy is looking to sell that Rubi suspension for on Kijiji is probably too much. If he wants to sell it to you for under $100 and you want to install it because you think it'll be fun, then fill your boots. If he wants you to pay more than that (or you're not looking forward to spending that time swapping out coils) then I would save a little money for an actual lift.
I followed a rainbow out to a garage and found a leprichaun. The rainbow ended in a potted cactus on his porch, but there was no gold :(
