Burned cd's and Jeep CD Players

I've burned 2 discs at x24 rate, as MP3 and .WAV files and the factory RBR coded CD player won't play them. Just get Err messages. Anybody have any luck or tips/tricks. TIA.

are you sure your jeep is set up to run MP3 / wma files?

i'd just put a new headunit in that could instead of the stock unit.

Junk it and buy a new deck.  Never had any luck getting the stock head unit to read regular music cd's let alone burned ones.

I believe it only will read audio files. Wouldn't mind a head unit with a iPod interface, no more trail skips...

pick up one of the midrange panasonic ones with the AUX input, then get a Y splitter cable and plug it inot ur ipod, then plug it into the back, insta pod, it'sa what i did when i built my stereo., check it out on my webpage

as an added bonus, if your CB supports it, you can also use this to have your cb run through your deck... helps with the low mounted cbs with speakers out the bottom or back!

I have always gone with wiring harness adapters from Autotemp to retain the factory harness and not butcher the vehicle. I want to make sure I don't lose the factory sub, that is until the passenger compartment fills with water one day...

there's a sony xtreme deck that has a sub out as well as 4 speaker outs and 4 pre-outs...

hey, can always by a cheap amp for your sub too

mine has the "7" speaker setup, not interested in swapping out untill nesseity dictates... hence the Autotemp harness.

I have an aftermarket deck and the factory sub is still 100% functional.  All you have to do is hook up the remote or power antenna lead to one of the wires (can't remember which one) and it works as it did with the factory deck.  Didn't even butcher the factory harness.  I used a $10 adapter harness from A&B sound that plugs into the factory harness and gets soldered to the deck harness. 100% reversible by unplugging the harness.

I'm gonna keedp my eyes open for a replacement deck. I'm new to the CJA and this forum, happy to be here and thanks for all the help. Could not make the meeting on Wed. hopefully in July.

I recommend you look on ebay for a deck. I have got my deck, amp, sub, and amp kit for an eBay store called AudioSavings. I spend ALOT less than i would have if i got at futureshop/bestbuy/A&B sound.

Deck installs are really easy, you could do youself some more coin there!

I'm gonna check them out, thanks. I do all my own installs, mine almost always turn out cleaner looking, plus it's my own gear and I care just that extra little bit to not do a half a$$ job.

I just saw a DVD head unit at futureshop. You can burn a few gigs of mp3s onto a disc. JVC Multimedia DVD/CD Car Deck (KD-DV6200). I dont believe its a flip-up type screen. It just looks like a regular deck. I like the feature of having a 1000 mp3s on one dvd disc.
