yes, ladies and gentlemen. ive done it. i finaly managed to buy my first car and jeep. its a 92yj stock. 124506km on it with upgraded sound system.
its not much but for a first car. its going to be the best. and when i can drive it leagaly in september, it'll be all decked out with a lift, 32's maybe 33's. hopefully a winch.  and all the good stuff. ($$$)
bad news about it... its a 2.5L 4cyl. but i can deal with that.  :?
good on gas though

so i hope to be on the trails with everyone come september. with my own rig at least. soo.
and im aware that theres going to be alot of blood sweat and money going into this thing. but its all worth it.

First car/jeep huh? Well congratulations and welcome to the world of high expense. If I may offer some thoughts for you. Not only is a car a high expense, but jeep is Just Empty Every Pocket. LOL

Seriously though, this being your first car there is a really good chance you're going to drive it hard, fast, and test the boundaries of physics. So my thought is to not pore every penny you make in to this jeep. I would suggest accessorize it to the max, and take this time to become a great driver. That way when you totally wreck this jeep, and decide you need a new one. You can transfer the accessories over to your new jeep that is going to last an awful lot longer.  Now before you say  "Yeah Whatever!!" Know that I have given this advise many times, and each time it was followed. I was thanked a year later.

Please note, this is assuming you're between 16 and 18 years of age.

Just a little food for thought.

Cheers, and happy wheeling... 8)

That sounds exatcly like me 2 years ago.  I bought a 95 with the 4cyc and now I have 33's and 3.5 inch lift.  I never planned on making it the way it is now, it snowballs, first the 31s then the lift then the 33s soon a winch.  I didnt even know how to change my oil before i bought this and I have done all the work on it myself.  It has been a lot of fun so far gas mileage is not that great my best tank (last week) was 19mpg or 12.25L/100km most of the time its near 14mpg.

Snowball, yep, I hear ya.

My 33's were on my Jeep for about 10 minutes before I decided they were too small.

Congradulations on the purchase. I hope you have a good time. Just remember to stay on the trail, keep the rubber side down, and pack out all the garbage you packed in.

Take care,
Kris

congrats on the first vehicle. welcome to the wonderful world of disappearing paychecks. however, at least you have somethin to show for it.  one piece of advice from someone who used to be in your position: if you want to do something, don't cheap out.  when i built my ford i tried to save $$, and all it did was cost me more in the end as i was never happy.  save your hard earned $$$ and get good components, this will always be a worth while investment. for example, don't cheap out on a lift, that will always get ya.  if u wanna run 33s, there are usually lots out there used, for good prices too.... basically, research what u wanna do first.  this said, congrats! i'm new to the jeep game and just finished puttin a lift on my ZJ, aren't buildups fun?>
