power loss

ever so often my jeep get this realy bad loss of power .when driving it starts to hesitate .the moter rpm stays the same but it almost feels like you are trying to push start a standard and when you pop clutch and it doesnt start .it does this a few times then works perfect.tryed replaceing the cam senser but that was not it .its a 97 tj with standard trasmissin.any ideas?

fuel pump possibly. not enough fuel delivery. Throttle position sensor, or map sensor. I think 97 TJ may be OBDII, but I'm not sure on that, with a scanner you can check those sensors. also check ignition system verify its not a misfire from lack of spark.

When was the last time you did an ignition tuneup? I had a similar issue (jerking under load) and replacing the ignition parts (plugs, wires, cap/rotor) fixed things. I suspect the plug wires had gone bad.

I had something similar from bad spark plug wires grounding out.
