Wheelin on July 22 or 23
« on: July 07, 2022, 05:54:34 PM »
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone is heading out on either the 22 or 23 for a little rip.  I would love to finally take my little guy out for a day.  McLean or Wiperous, it doesn't matter.  I am all geared up, but just not a big fan of going alone (what could possibly go wrong, lol).  Let me know if there are any takers and we can line things up.

Cheers,

Randy

No worries.  Thanks for the look.  Years ago I was out wheelin all the time with all sorts of groups.  Now it seams it is like pulling teeth.  Is there an app or video game people are playing instead, lol.

I might be able to do the 23rd. I got young boys too so not looking for anything too ambitious.

I have a buddy who is new to wheeling in a Jeep, but he has a good little TJ with a winch.  It sounds like he might be interested in the 23rd as well.  He joined the club last year but never found a group to get out and ride with.  Sounds like this could be shaping up to be a good time.  Let's start coming up with a plan next week.

Tough crowd.  Probably my fourth or fifth post to find guys to go wheeling with and no takers.  Oh well, maybe next month when I get home from work.  I will see how that pans out.  I might have to go back to my old Red Deer club for some wheeling.  Prairie creek is a fun place to wheel, bit of a jeep eater!

Guys take care and enjoy the weather,

Most people already have plans for the summer so it's not always easy to get people together for a run.

One thing that often works is just showing at up McLean Creek Store at 9am and tag along with another group. There are always people showing up and making their own group for the day if you're not picky.

Fedropor is correct, summer books up for most people real quick.  Showing up at the Maclean store is your best option for spur-of-the-moment runs.  There are usually groups staging there and headed out around 9-10 AM,  lots of friendly wheelers and a great way to meet new people.  There also is a facebook page XJ's of Calgary that is active to get things going on quick notice.  Also have wheeled at Prairie Creek countless times and have destroyed more parts then I care to remember, but have not been there in the last 10 years.  Don't give up on CJA, we are active, but at times it just doesn't appear so.

LOVE Prairie Creek. Love it. Great memories were made there.
I was fortunate, I haven't left any parts there, or broken down in the area. Just a few good stucks. And a ticket.

if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.
Here's your cup of STFU... ENJOY!
