thinking of selling my tj and getting new rubicon 4 door....
« on: October 13, 2006, 09:25:20 AM »
im thinking of selling my TJ and getting a new 4 door unlimited rubicon. what do you think i could/should get for it if i do decide to sell it?

here's the specs:

- 2001 TJ Sport
- 60,000km
- sound bar and factory sub
- 4" rough country lift kit
- rough country steering stabilizer
- rubicon express quick disconects
- rock crawler rear bumper with hitch receiver and d-ring shackles
- projector headlights
- cobra cb with wilson whip antenna
- 35" x 12.5 trxxus mt's with rock krawler wheels
- 7" wide fender flares
- skid plates
- 8000lb winch with snatchblock
- rubicon express stainless brake lines
- 3 tops. hard top / soft top / bikini, windjammer, duster top.
- other stuff like k&n etc.

jeep is in excellent shape. no scratches, rust or anything mechanically / electrically wrong with it and i've owned it since new. it's damn sweet and i wish i could keep it and get the new one but the 4 door just fits my lifestyle a little better. i dont have any pics of it clean at the moment.

i'll post one soon

You would get and save the most money by returning it to stock, selling the parts you wouldnt reuse on the jk, and keeping the parts you would.

Modded TJ's will almost always go for the same, or less then stockers. Especially if done on a trade in.

You can find stock set ups all over the boards.

I have a set of stock bumpers, track bars, and LCA's to get you started.

bnine makes an excellent point, never gave it much thought before , totally my opinion and cant back any of this up but I bet <20% of TJ's on the road see trail duty , thats 1 in 5,  the other 4 in 5 might like the looks but there is a sterotype out there if its 'modified' its been abused ... which probably makes lots shy away ... so putting it back the way it was is probably more appealing to the masses ... I dont think its deception as long as there is full disclosure to buyer if someone's concerned ...

good advise on this board, if I ever turnover ( let me rephrase that ) if I ever flip  ( let me rephrase that )  if I ever sell my yj I'd be better of doing similar ... but I do tend to hang onto things till they are total junk!

There's no price...how much ?
The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.
