hmmmmmm large tech question
« on: October 03, 2006, 05:16:51 PM »
after my little misshap as few weeks ago at the rock crawl in reddeer. I am unsure of what to do now

sitting at my house right now I have
1 very built 93 xj( its done there is no saving it) but all the parts are good

in the last few weeks I have picked up
1- 94 crashed xj (got for free)
1-91 xj (hit a deer)
1-90 (mint loaded leather)xj  both the 90 and 91 for 400

today guess what showed up
200 feet of 2" dom
160 feet of 1.75" dom
160 feet of 1.75" erw

now can any one tell me what the plan is

that would be score hawg, but why not put the fully load bod on the built frame and add an exocage, tied in to your inner cage which is tied into your frame to avoid mishaps?

or you could build a very built tube rig, or sell me the wrecked xj for ultracheep, since it's dun.

remeber XJ's are a unibody design.... you cannot just do a simple body swap lol

o yeah...right. first unibody SUV... nutz...

ok, quickie....does the black one still run?
if yes, then it's not toast by a long shot, you should know this by now...if it's tweaked a little, then so what?

the roof and front clip (and to not very much of an extent) are the only thing that look like they're bummed, so go nutz with some air shears and just drop another roof on...or find a cj-6 soft top and weld brackets onto it for that...would win some prizes for obscurity for sure!

2nd option, since the body swap is out of the question,  take everything from the wrecked one, put it on/into the 90, 2 doors are way funner than 4

The 90 , ......... start with that , use all of the good stuff from the the built 93 , including the HO powertrain n' wiring . Exo cage it with the tubing shown.

The 90 is a two door ?  I like those more than four door XJ's , I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

With what you have there for parts , yer in good shape.

update

stripped the 94 and sent it to the wreckers

started building the 91 as a new DD.cut most of the inner ferders, rad support and tin off the 93 and welded it on to the 91 to rebuild the front end as it was toast from hitting the deer. Its now finished and drivable

going to strip every last piece off the 90 loaded 4 door.narrow the front end 6 to 8 inches.cut the arse end off at the rear doors, and tube the works.going to try and cut the pannels to fit the new tube work so it looks like it has rock sliders every where, with the stock xj body work inset a 1/2 inch.then transplant all the running gear off the 93 in to it.
