A Big THANK YOU!!
« on: November 25, 2006, 05:42:48 PM »
To the two plow truck operators on Deerfoot & Glenmore Trails early Friday morning that were parked on the side of Deerfoot Trail.

I want to thank you both for pushing all the snow onto an otherwise relatively clean road (on a curve I might add) causing the car I was driving beside to lose control, turn sideways into the rear quarter of my truck which in turn, instantly put me into a 360 degree spin and coming to a rest against the centre divider and which resulted in what is probably a write-off of my truck (well, my company truck).

I also would like to thank them for making a quick exit before even taking the time to see if I, or the occupants of the other vehicle got were injured or not.

I know you guys saw me because I actually passed you while I was sliding backwards.

I bet you really laughed your asses off as you left....

What you guys missed was the next car that came by and very, very narrowly missed the driver (who was standing outside) of the car that hit me, went it a really nice skid as it passed me (also standing outside my truck) and hit the mini-van next to it.
That car missed the other driver by about 2-3 feet and was skidding at about 80+ km/h! before it hit the van. At least it was a good 10 feet from hitting me.

Anyway, A BIG Thank You!

Feel better Vince?
 :P

Sriously though...why don't you call the city?  311 will get you where you need to go. It may take some effort, but you'll find what your looking for.

Definately get the city involved.  They have to face up to their responsibility.

We had a situation here last winter where a plowing / piling decision resulted in what amounted to a launch ramp over an armco barrier right at a bridge if a near insane series of circumstances took place in the adjoining lanes.  They did and a woman rocketed off like James Bond into the sky before crashing nose first on the river ice below.  She would have otherwise punted off the barrier put there for the very purpose.  Instead she was flung into the river valley below to her death.
I'd rather be dragging a club than clubbing in drag

Glad to hear you are okay Vince, but definately get the city involved in this.  Honestly, in situations like this, they usually don't want a further occurance and will probably get on it quickly.

FYI...those rigs are likely to have GPS onboard as it is used to confirm what roads have been passed.  Just a thought, since so many other city vehicles use some form of GPS.
