$ 85' CJ-7 Renegade?
« on: January 09, 2007, 09:55:22 PM »
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think an 85' CJ-7 Renegade is worth - original owner, 100,000km, mint hard and soft tops and doors, solid frame, rusty tub (holes in floor boards, rocker panels, wheel wells).  It needs a muffler and has a noisy lifter.  It drives well and seems pretty tight.  Any ideas???

A picture would really help.  I hate to say it, but looks determine a lot of the asking price.  I have seen awesome rigs go for very little simply because of some "blemishes", while a nice looking stock vehicle took a higher price.  :?

Also, depends on any mods done to it. I find that if a jeep is modded, it seems to command a higher price on these forums, than what you would get for it from someone on www.buysell.com who doesn't have a clue what a OME lift kit is.

Got some pics?  8)

Here's a prime example to why you wouldn't believe what folks say about the price.

I personally think it would only be worth about $300 but I would be prepared to pickj it up this afternoon sight unseen and give you $350 for it. Provided it has new tires on it. :shock:

All in the eye the beholder, but considering its classic, and if its in as good as shape as you say it is, it wouldnt be cheap.

4-6k would be a good deal imo

as high as 10k probably wouldnt be unreasonable to the collector type that really wanted it.

It really is hard to say.

Look at the welldone scrambler here that sold for 4k. Granted it went in like 2 hours, but....

I saw a similar scrambler, stock restored in the trader, the guy wanted 36k......................... :shock:  :shock:  :shock:

Never know, some collector may have paid it.

No kidding? i did not know that. i just kept seeing that policy thing and figured i would give it a try without the cut and paste of the actual policy,
So, the guy that asked what his TJ was worth could have done it here and we could have offered opinions? i am glad to hear that.

Bill, he said the tub is rusty, so from that I would think around $4K if all else is good.
