Swivel leaf spring shackles
« on: April 25, 2007, 11:26:33 PM »
I saw some leaf spring shackles and I think they were teraflex (sp) and they would swivel left and right and also looked like they could buckle. What is the reasoning for this and is it better than a solid shackle?

Are you talking about the Teraflex Revolver Shackles.  If so, they are suppose to reduce torsional stress on the springs and allow for A LOT more droop.  However, to run them properly, you need to increase the length of your shocks and brakelines, plus have a lot of slip in the driveshafts.  They are not very popular because of some supposed handling quirks that are not pleasant.  I have never ran them, so I don't know
