DC pressure switches

Does anybody know where to get a DC pressure switch that would be basically the same as a AC pressure switch that has adjustable cut-in and cut-out pressure settings that they sell at Princess Auto? Thanks.

Get the arb style if you know your presets. They are set at what you order and smaller then a signal flasher.

Otherwise, the big ones are usually only adjustable on the bottom from what i've seen.

those pressure switches are purely mechanical and do not care what voltage they are switching as far as i know.....

Ya, that's what I thought but there was some big discussions(arguments) over on jeepsunlimited, so I thought I would see if a DC version of those pressure switches actually existed before I bought an AC.

Bnine...do you know if the arb switch terminals are rated to handle up to 40amps?....That's the fuse size required for the compressor I'm running. Also...How would that switch be wired in? Would I just run the fused power to one terminal on the arb and then run a wire from the other terminal to the compressor? Any grounding required? Thanks.

Im not good with electrical, but as far as I understand, the are like most other switches and can be run through a relay, or off a switch so that they see almost no current.

They are used on ARB's new compressor, which must pull 20-25amps constant.

Hook up Im not sure. I just had a look at Fugs from his kit when he had it over.

Had me drooling compared to those stupid none sealed, lunchbox sized princess jobbies.

Fug can tell you more, he hooked his up a little while back. Im sure it would ground though. Pretty sure thats how the diapham works. Engages and disconnects the ground.

Use a constant duty relay, Canadian Tire sells one for about 20 bucks (looks like a Ford starter relay) and is rated for 80 amps continuous and 160 spike. I used that for my dual battery setup for nearly 4 years with no problems.

Tha ARB pressure switch also works good, I think the setting is on at 85-90 psi and off at about 105 psi, worked good for me. You will need a fitting to adapt the ARB British thread fitting to our SAE size (and I just happen to have an extra one sitting around)

Okay, Bnine, Vince, you guys have me convinced to use a ARB switch IF I can get one in a hurry....I'm always in such a hurry...I have no patience . Where is the best place to order one and get it fast? I will give you a call soon Vince...I know which relay you are talking about.

National stocks quite a few arb parts these days. You can try that. Other wise ARB direct (the usa outlet) is option.

Or you can try somewhere industrail in town like Skeens.

Carefull though, skeens has a lot of wicked pnuematic connections, regulators and all that. Pretty easy to spend a pile of money in there

Skeens is directly across the street from the northern metallic thats beside evolution.
