Heater REALLY slow to switch

I don't know if this is normal but I'm assuming it isn't.  When I switch my heater from the floor to the dash vents, it takes around 10 seconds to switch.  It does switch, just very slowly.

Is this normal?  Any idea how to fix it if it isn't (vacuum leak?)?

Mine does that too.  Worse when it's colder.  It has taken up to two minutes on occasion to get the dash vents on depending on the position of the gas pedal and the vacuum in the engine.

isint the vent movement controlled by a vaccum actuator?  
 if were were to say.... remove the radio from the dash, and look at the back of your heat controls there's a bunch of plastic tubes that clip into the back of it
my problem was i couldnt switch to the floor vents, but the others worked, turned out to be a split tube, a touch of glue to seal the crack, and suddenly it worked!

I have having the same problem with my dash vents not switching over at all...I suspect is the vaccum, just wondering if someone could point me in the direction of where, and how to check for leaks.

Anyone? I see in this post to look behind the heater controls, but I am assuming that there must be some lines coming from the engine compartment...Can anyone direct me to where to find these and check for leaks.

as said above look behind the heater control and follow the lines.  You can usually see the cracks if there are any.  Other option is to disconnect the lines and put your thumb on the end to check for vacuum (hard to do).
