2" Budget Boost Question
« on: April 14, 2008, 06:15:37 PM »
Just got back from Modern Motors and was quoted around $850.00 for all parts and labor plus alignment.  Is this a fairly decent price or am I getting screwed?

Also how hard is it to install yourself, I have been told it is about a 6 hour job.

which kit is it? some can be new springs, new shocks, and a few other little knick-knacks... but usually budget boosts are just that, cheap. and thats a lot more than ive seen them. a typical 1-2" spacer lift without shocks should be 100-250$. depends on type and how many spacers come in the kit. i think the alignment is always a good idea. and good new shocks can improve the ride dramatically. might want to shop around.

The kit they showed me comes with 4 new shocks, 4 coil spacers and bump stops.

Because this quote is parts AND labor, I would say it's quite reasonable.

Ok, total noob question.  After I have done my lift I'm going to want some new tires to go with it, maybe the Wrangler Silent Armors, the tires I have currently are 225/75/15, just a tad bigger than stocker form what I understand.

I have no real desire to trim the fenders any and want to know what size tire I can run with the 2" BB.

31's would be perfect, 32's will work and 33's...that's just bad if you plan on wheeling it.

This was my '99 with a 2" bb and 32's.
