I had to return my 9500 lb champion & bought the 10,000lb model.  I found the new model to be faster than the old one & has a better freespool clutch setup.  I would recommend using short pulls with a cheaper winch.

Ya looks like I might grab the 10k lb champion and give it a shot. Its half the price of the Warn m8000, ya I know you get what you pay for but when Im submerging it in mud and beating on it I dont like spending the steep price!  ;D

There should be a record of the purchase on your account I think...

That is exactly why you buy a Warn because even after all the abuse of offroading it will still run and pull you out

I agree with Scott.  I would rather buy a good used Warn then a new Champion/Superwinch any day.

I'd put the Epi 9000 Superwinch against the XD 9000i all day long & still take the the SW over the W.  Draws 30 % less full load amps & all the other specs are virtually the same accept the price ;D.  Only reasons I switched out to the Champ are the weight & I've downsized to the KJ ;).

Everyone’s got their preferences and I’ll leave it at that.

But until I see a Super Winch or a Campion on the same trail doing 50+ pulls going up a snow covered trail with 3 jeeps attached too it, then I’ll stick with my Warn for reliability and durability.   Maybe it's coincedential that every time I'm out where a winch is required, something always goes wrong with either a campion or a superwinch, and those are easy pulls.

It's an expesive hobby, and some things you just can't cheap out on.

I agree with the recommendation to go with a Warn, I have an 8274 that I've got on my third vehicle already without doing any repairs.  At one Jeep Jamboree, I had to anchor my rig to a tree to keep from sliding and pulled  11 units through a mud hole and the winch is still running like a dream.
I HATE mud and snow!!!!!!!
