Lifters, not going back in!!!!

Ok here's the thing I had a bad lifter (serious ticking) during start up at first. Then got worse as time went on. So I ended up buying a set to replace them all. That was over a month ago. I finally got the time to do them today. So I started pullin em all. The first 3 went in soooo easily, BUT now im stuck on the middle 2 (from front to back). they just dont to go in. Does anyone have any ideas or tricks?
Because im completly confused and tapped out.
