Have a 92 YJ just replaced the oil pump, changed the oil and the filter and still have very low to almost no oil pressure. Any other idea's it could be??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Was the oil pick-up screen clean?
put a mechanical gauge on the engine to confirm the oil pressure.
If its still low you may need to check your bearing clearances

id test the engine with an actual oil pressure gauge. if the reads fine then its either the sensor, or the gauge in your dash. if it doesnt read fine, then yer lookin at rebuild time:)

I've had some issues with mine on the XJ...sensor, and the lead.

Fix: replace sensor in instance one.  Ran for another 18 months before...
Fix 2: heat shielding had been pulled back from the lead....

Symptoms: when mine has been sensor related, and lead, with malfunction or shorting, I was reading HIGH pressure with needle well over the high mark, and was always erratic (bouncing from 12 o'clock to 3).  I have yet to see it read LOW with either of the above problems.  It might just be mine, but...doesn't seem characteristic.

Oil 10W30 dino, or synth?

mine reads ok most of the time.  if i do a hill too steep up or down and idle it so rpms drop the engine light will come one for a few hours cause my oil pressure drops too low.

one oil filter i put on made it never go past 1/2 mark, even on a cold morning start.  was better once i got rid of the fram crap filter.

i need to get a mechanical pressure gauge, napa said $70 for one but had to order it in so i never bothered... it can wait.
