couple things guys first off, if you look at the NAFTA (north american free trade agreement) its Chretien's signature thats on it...... Tories created and got tossed out of office for it. then it got passed into legislation. also, while I the Harper Gov't has done some VERY dumb things (as has been statd here, income trusts, etc) we have to keep in mind, he ran a minorty gov't longer than any other inCanadian history, and unfortunately, passed more legislation as a MINORITY Govt' than the previous Liberals as a MAJORITY.......... (I won't even touch on the millions squandered in scandals) some broken lies, sure, its a gov't they all do; but he dropped GST as he said he would and some other social programs as well. whether you like it or not, he had outlined plans and passed them with a minority gov't......
As far as economic plan, i'd like to hear one; the NDP and Liberal coalition kept yelling for auto sector bailout money etc etc....... turns out, GM needs some cash, and Ford and Dodge need credit lines just in 'case'............ i personally, i think its better to have some sort of business plan in place when public money will be allocated to struggling companies...... tossing 30B at problems without knowing what needs to be done is dumb. the budget comes out in january..... i think REsponsible gov't can wait that long (more than 6 weeks at least after an election) before overthrowing..... then, if they can't work it out, vote em out, i'm all for it.....
as far as the coalition is concerned; John Manley has officially called for Dion to step down as leader.... again..... and i wonder, if the coalition was so strong and such a good idea, how come Ignatieff and Rae and the others looking to take over for the Liberals all backed out of leading a coalition?
? i'm sure its not cause they all believe Dion can run the country.....
sorry for the rant.... i'm gonna go break something on my jeep now
