Replace the box with a camper/rv style body and have an extreme motorhome.  Kind of like this guy did

Unimog's are awesome off road but SUCK on road,thats the trouble,you just would not want to drive one anywhere on road,i drove a new one,they drive very well on AND off road but cost a fortune.

That would be awesome for trail projects, think about the lumber and stuff you could carry in to build bridges etc. 
I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out.
