Dana 44 axles
« on: May 10, 2009, 10:07:34 PM »
I'm installing a cj dana 44 and now I notice the bolt pattern for rims is different. Can I change them to fit the 1990 pattern so I don't have to buy new rims for the rear or what else is an affordable solution.
I will have a stroker installed so not sure a spacer is the best idea for a rear axle.  Any suggestions would be great thanks.

I've sold spacers to a couple of different guys running Gm 3/4 and 1 tons with juiced up D-max's(500HP) They haven't have troubles with them. Adapters would let you keep your present wheels. Unless you've really put a lot of coin into your stroker you whouldn't have any problems with adapters.

Well it won't be 500 hp thats for sure but it will be around over 260. Just concerned with 35 tires that they won't be an issue. Thanks for the reply.

where did you find a cj with a d44. i didnt think they came that way... so is it a tj d44 or where is the rear axle frome. some dana axles can have the bblt pateerns changed just by swaping parts, ie 5 bolt/ 6 bolt and 8 bolt

It's not a TJ axle....CJ 44 axles are quite common, but early ones.......
