New to the jeep scene!
« on: May 12, 2009, 12:57:17 PM »
Hey everyone, my name is Jeff. I just bought a 1990 Jeep YJ Wrangler about 2 weeks ago. I'm new to the scene and not sure where to being. The motor has a decently loud tick coming from what sounds to be the top of the engine. Is there a way to fix it, or should I be looking into getting a replacement 4.2L? I have some plans for the jeep, like lift, engine swap and tires as soon as I can get them done. I'm looking to use this as a daily driver, yet able to take off-road on weekends and have some fun! Also, the jeep is supposed to be going to the mechanics for an inspection for insurance requirements, does anyone have any suggestions of a good mechanic? I'm still fairly new to Calgary and not aware of any good/bad shops! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
