Road Tires?
« on: May 23, 2009, 08:50:32 AM »
This is more a opinion question to see who likes there tires. and or what are a good multi purpose tire.

Right now I run 35" Baja Claws. and they are fricken loud! and not like just hum load like when I went to BC this week I had to wear ear plugs cause I started to get a headache from the tire noise.

what are some good M/T's that work good off road but are still fairly silent on road?

any opinions.

I am trying to decide if I should buy a 33" AT for around the city since it is my daily driver. or if I should just get a better all around tire?

and since the MT Baja Claws are brand new I dont want to get ride of them. that and they are a awesome mud tire.

Take a look at this Dean tire. Dean is made by Cooper, they call them a mud terrain but they're more of a aggressive AT. Good wear, quiet and decent grip.

They work pretty good at 5 lbs, actually puts the side biters to use.
I just can’t resist a good mud hole!  🤦

The T/A KOs don't unload mud very well, though. I have them on 2 of my Jeeps.... 1 of which is my trail rig. I will be going to M/Ts this year.
if we were smart with our money we wouldn't own Jeeps.

I had the BFG AT ko's in a 31" on my first cherokee and that was my only complaint is they didnt do very well in the mud. I would get them as a street tire tho.

I had Goodyear Wrangler MTs on my stock TJ. I really liked them around town. Not to loud.
I've told my sons that we are going to get headsets, like the ones from choppers, so that we can kill the noise and talk to each other on the highway!
