A disco is a place where they play funkey music with a multifaceted mirrired ball spinns around. The people that go to these places wear weird clothes and speak with funny slang terms.
The Disco would refer to the front axle disconnect. This is a vacuum actuated method of uncoupling the front axle.

most all XJ's have a D30 front, if you have a disco axle, there will be a large hump on the passenger side where the upper control are bolts on and there will be a few vacum hoses running to it. Non discos are just a stright tube from the pumpkin to the knuckle.
