Working on the CJ
« on: September 23, 2009, 12:55:11 PM »
I am rebuilding a 77 CJ 7.
Anyone know if a 1989 AX-15 5 speed tranny will fit the stock 258 in my 77 or is the bell housing/mounts different.
Are there adaptors available, I really would like a 5 speed instead of the stock 4

It'll bolt right up. It uses the common AMC transmission bolt pattern that is common to 1971+ V8 and L6 motors. 8)
