I like 'em, but for space considerations if you can find the 255 85 R 16 instead, it's the same height or a smidgen taller, but narrower so less rubbing.

Watch out if you go with 255's.
Essentially they're a dually tire, sometimes 3/4 ton and usually be a E load range.

What kinda rig are you trying to put these on? Keep in mind that a Rubicon has 1" taller springs to START with. I had 33's on my Rubi with a 2" budget boost AND a 1" body lift, and still had to do some steering stop work. I don't think I'd put 33's on a "regular" TJ.

I am running 32's on a Regular TJ with a 2"BB, There is Fender clearence to fit 33's but you will definitely rub while turning and lose up-travel while you are at it. I would be more concerned with tire width, and rim offset than the hieght of a 33.

from what I have read, the Rubicon does not have taller springs..but it does seem to be a common misconception.

Rubis had a stiffer spring rate in their first production runs in 2002. After that, same old spring thats in every other TJ.

I did a 2" Budget Boost on my gf's 97 TJ and ran 33" BFG AT's. It worked well cause we don't wheel it very much. Didn't rub while turning, but I was using a 15X8 wheel with 3.75" backspacing. I have since put in a 2" body lift as well.
