gas tank skid
« on: February 10, 2010, 10:04:33 PM »
just wondered what years of xj's came out with the gas tank skid plates and if they would work on my 97 xj?
I have seen a few older ones but was not sure what other years had them.

if anyone has one, pm me as I want one :)

thanks
steve

anyone have any insight as to what years had them/what years would fit my 97 xj.
I have heard that some grand cherokee skids will fit, I just don't know what years to look for them.

97-01 XJ skids will fit your Cherokee.

I highly recommend the TOMKEM skid plat. they are reasonable in price and i have abused mine for over a year now and have no issues.
The stock plat is not that heavy and dose not protect the sides.

Why does your Jeep say Toyota on it?
The obstacle is the path.

TOMKEN? Probably a lot cheaper to get one fabbed up at a local shop than buying any named brand stuff. I'm sure there are more than a few guys on this site with the skills and tools to do the job.
