I need a mechanic for my Mercury Topaz I just got. The alignment is way out of wack. I have no idea what is causing it. Last guy hit a curb real bad. I think the frame is bent, so we can use a winch to straighten it out. Or it might be a bent tie rod, steering or pillar. If that is the case then we can just swap parts off a Pick Your Part vehicle. However if it is steering linkage, it goes in behind the engine. Perhaps if anyone has a vehicle lift or access to one. If not we can just go to the U-Fix-It place and rent a bay.

Thanks

From what I remember of the few topaz's I've worked on, there is no frame. They are unibody. If thats bent, you have problems. Fix the steering if there's obvious problems and just run it into the ground.

Well I have driven about 750 km on it, within the city and on the highway abit. It seems both of the front wheels really wear on the outside real bad. And if I crank the wheel all the way one way, one wheel rubs on something real bad (front drivers). Down to the wires on the one wheel now. I figure I can go through tires from pick and pull for $15 a hit. I have 2 tires on rims in the trunk. Man i hate unibodies, you are right, these things are unibody. I guess I drive it the way it is until it dies. Filled up for $25 goes about 350km, not bad.
